Walk-throughs & Tutorials

What is WordPress? ( 3 Min )

WordPress is a content management system (CMS) that helps you easily manage your website. Similar to how Windows or macOS help you use your computer through a visual interface, WordPress gives you a dashboard to edit pages, upload photos, write blog posts, and control your website without advanced coding knowledge.

Elementor is a Website Builder ( 3 Min )

Elementor is a visual website builder that works on top of WordPress. While WordPress manages the core content and structure of the website, Elementor allows you to design pages visually using drag-and-drop tools — similar to designing in Canva, Squarespace, or a magazine layout editor. It allows you to build and customize pages, sections, photos, buttons, forms, and layouts without needing to manually code each element.

Editing a page with Elementor ( 3 Min )

There are two common ways to open a page in Elementor for editing. If you are logged into the website on the front end, you can use the top WordPress admin toolbar and click “Edit with Elementor” while viewing the page you want to edit. You can also access Elementor through the WordPress dashboard by going to Pages > selecting the specific page > then clicking “Edit with Elementor.” Both methods open the same visual builder where you can edit text, images, layouts, and page content in real time.

Page Layout Basics ( 7 Min )

Elementor page structure is typically organized in this hierarchy: → Section / Container (main layout area)
→ Column / Grid Area / Nested Container (layout organization)
→ Element / Widget (text, image, button, form, video, etc.)

Elementor pages are built in layers, much like organizing content inside boxes within boxes. At the highest level are Sections or Containers, which hold the main areas of a page. Inside those are Columns, Containers, or Grids used to organize content into layouts and structure. Within those areas are individual Elements such as text, images, buttons, forms, videos, and spacers.

Changing out Text ( 2 Min )

To change text in Elementor, simply open the page with the Elementor visual builder, click directly on the text element you want to edit, and type your changes in the left-side panel or directly on the page preview. Elementor updates visually in real time, allowing you to immediately see how your changes will appear on the website before publishing.

Swapping out an Image ( 3 Min )

To change an image in Elementor, first locate where the image is actually being used. Some images are added as regular Image elements, while others may be set as a background image inside a Section, Container, or Column under the “Style” tab. Click around the area you want to edit and explore the Elementor structure panel if needed. Once you find the correct element, section, or container, you can replace the image from the Style or Content settings and see the update instantly in the visual builder.

Glitchy SIte? Try Clearing Cache ( 2 Min )

Sometimes after WordPress or plugin updates, a website may temporarily look unusual or behave unexpectedly. This does not necessarily mean something is broken. Websites often store temporary files (cache) to improve speed, and after updates some areas may still be remembering older files while others are already using newer ones, creating temporary display or functionality issues. The first step is usually to clear the cache. In WordPress, go to WP Fastest Cache in the top toolbar and select Clear All Cache, then Clear Cache and Minified CSS/JS. If needed, I may also clear server-level cache to ensure the website is loading the newest version properly.

How to Create a Blog Post ( 3 Min )

Creating a blog post in WordPress is simple. From your WordPress Dashboard, click Posts and then Add New Post. Enter a title for your blog, then write your content directly in the editor or copy and paste it from another document. To add a main image for the post, look in the right-hand sidebar and click Featured Image, then upload or select an image from your media library. You can also add images within the body of your post if desired. Once everything looks good, click Publish in the upper-right corner to make your blog live on your website.
